Cairns
A nice area with excellent diving. I just have no photos.
July 1999
After abandoning Mike and Kev to their fates in Airlie (their fates being, it turned out, to pooter about for a week or so and then return to Sydney at virtually the same time I did...) I took the bus up the coast to Cairns to go diving and to meet up with Lindsey with whom I'd gone diving in Thailand .
We did our advanced divers which was excellent fun, even accounting for the fact that my hearing went again, and I got food poisoning on the last day and got about 6 hours sleep over the three days.
Also around that time my digital camera went up in smoke which was distinctly unhelpful (and expensive to fix) thus the lack of many photos.
Above and to the right we have a view of Cairns from just up the hill on the way to Kuranda (if memory serves me right, which it usually doesn't). Lindsey can be seen left inadvertently posing over the view.
Once again the most successful method of getting photo's of people looking natural is to give them no warning. Obviously this isn't very popular with the subject if the shot makes them look a complete plonker, but thankfully here this didn't happen.
Otherwise I'd probably be in fear for my life right now.
Like they say... why don't sharks eat lawyers? Professional courtesy. I'm going to pay for that joke, but what the hell...
These final two shot are of rainforest with Lindsey and rainforest without Lindsey respectively. I could tell you where they are but I can't remember to be honest. I think it's the walk near Kuranda though. Hell I can say it is anyway, as one section of rainforest looks pretty much like another. It's the rainforest walk in Kuranda. There - I've said it...
